How did Los Angeles celebrate repeal? As responsibly as they did any other day during prohibition - the Los Angeles Times reported-
'Hundreds of gallons of wines, whisky, brandy and other strong liquors were rushed to more than 10,000 retailers in Southern Califronia' but the anticipated rush to purchase 'failed to materialize' and drinkers celebrated quietly. Though beer still seemed to be very popular....
